My Superhero Body – Week 10

Hello again, Gryphans!

So, once again it’s been over two weeks without an update. I’ve needed some time to think a few things over, but I’m back, and I’ve missed you.

Miss the last post? My Superhero Body – Week 8?

Post Mortem

Exercise

Okay, so the last time we checked in, I was going into a week of exercise that involved skipping. Yeah, like, “We’re off to see the wizard,” skipping.

Skip

My walk-run drill from Week 7 of Zombies, Run! 5k had 5 sets of 15 seconds of skipping followed by a minute of running.

Despite my being pretty sure that I skipped everywhere, all the time, when I was just a little sprout, skipping as an adult is exhausting! It’s also dangerous.

After doing my Monday/Wednesday/Friday exercises, I found myself feeling like a hot sack of crap, and my left foot had some unexpected pain.

Feeling bad overall was probably due to it being very hot and very humid. I’m a cold weather creature. As for the foot pain, I haven’t been to a doctor, yet, but I suspect I injured my Achilles tendon in some way.

I haven’t run for a week.

I wanted to give myself time to heal.

My Achilles tendon still hurts, though. I’m not sure where to go from here, so…

Diet

Okay, so between watching my calories and exercise, on the week of July 16th to 22nd, I ran a calorie deficit of about 1400 calories per day.

The week of July 23rd to 29th, I wasn’t exercising and my calorie deficit dropped to about 600 calories per day.

And the weight loss results? I lost more weight last week than the week before. What, the hell? How does diet and exercise even work?

Weekly Weigh-In

The Numbers

On July 31st, 2017:

  • I weighed 260.1 pounds
  • My body fat was 34.4%
  • That means 89.5 pounds of me was fat

In the last week:

  • I’ve lost 7.4 pounds
  • I’ve lost 4.7 pounds of fat

But here’s the rub… On July 24th 2017, I’d lost 1.4 pounds from the previous week.

Since I’ve started:

  • I’ve lost 45.3 pounds
  • I’ve lost 28.7 pounds of fat

Moving Forward

I’m honestly not sure if I’ll be able to run next week. It depends on if my Achilles tendon feels better. If it doesn’t, I’ll be making a doctor’s appointment and maybe starting some yoga or something in the meantime.

That’s all for now, gryphans! I’m glad I let you know what’s up.

Until next week,

Mr. Gryphon
